Our Approach
But curriculum design and development doesn’t stop there. It is critical to the successful adoption of your new Epic system that we employ the best approach to training your teams and incorporate a variety of learning styles into their new training. Over the years, we have learned that healthcare professionals often participate in EHR training with a fear of losing control in how they do their jobs and practice medicine. And they may be concerned about their ability (or inability) to learn at the same pace as their professional peers. Our trainers know the importance of a positive environment and strive to adapt our training to the users learning style. We want to be certain that each training participant becomes a self-assured Epic user and we provide the specific type of training to ensure that outcome. And, of course, as your team changes workflows and builds, we assimilate those changes into the training to assure the “true” adoption of your Epic system. RAIN’s training approach, combined with our peer to peer, elbow to elbow, Go-Live support, allows healthcare professionals to quickly become confident and productive in their work post go-live. Our TrainersRAIN Resources selects only the most senior experienced trainers to deliver your Epic curriculum. Our trainers amass years of Epic training and certifications across the Epic applications. When a trainer is selected to work with RAIN, you can be certain that they bring the knowledge and experience your organization needs in Epic acumen, project management, curriculum development and adult learning and instructional design. RAIN trainers are Epic certified, excel in interpersonal communications, and have earned superior ratings by our clients. Their proficiency includes, but is not limited to, the following:
Our ScheduleTo ensure continuity from implementation through training, it is of utmost importance to hire your training team early in Phase 1. This will give the training team a thorough understanding of your Epic system’s validation and re-engineering, and allow your configurations and underlying workflow rationale to be incorporated into the training curriculum. Trainers need to be thoroughly versed in your organization’s workflow, as physicians and nursing staff will want to know the reasons their prior workflow has been changed, and understand the rationale to enhance their adoption of the new Epic system. In addition, trainers will need to complete their certification of your system prior to training. Trainers use all of the acquired information from the validation, re-engineering and new workflow configurations to develop the training curriculum and content for each lesson. RAIN Resources Trainers pride themselves on executing a training curriculum based on their understanding of medicine, your configurations and workflow. Additionally, they incorporate the emotional aspects of accepting a new system that is so intrinsic to your staff’s work. The earlier trainers are hired, the more they can address, in a peer-to-peer approach, all aspects of successful learning and change management. |
