UWMF requests the participation of the WIEUG Board in this conference call to discuss the Beacon grant opportunity. The conference call objective is to determine each WIEUG Member Organizations interest in participating in the Beacon grant request. Ideally, the grant request will include the names of those organizations that will be the "extended healthcare community" beyond Dane County. The discussion will include grant participation details, timeframe expectations, grant funds, etc.
Background
The WI Department of Health Services, UW Madison - School of Medicine and Population Health, Epic, Madison - VA and UW Health, believe that their community is in an ideal position to be awarded one of these grants. The funding, if awarded, would be shared with all of our organizations in the Dane County Care Everywhere coalition, and other Epic & non-Epic health organizations in our extended "healthcare community" to further the data exchange initiative, to improve patient outcomes, quality, safety, & efficiency.
